The Journal of Historical Fictions

In early 2016 Farah Mendlesohn organised a conference at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, where she was then the Head of the English Department, on historical fictions. The Historical Fictions Research Network was born, and I organised the editorial group for the Network’s journal. On Friday 17 February 2017, the first issue of the Journal of Historical Fictions was launched, as an online, Open Access, double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal. Issue 1.2 was published on 13 December 2017.

The Journal is a history journal about the fictions history tells us. It crosses many disciplines: literature, classics, music, fine art, psychology, media and film, and history. I fully expect to see articles about costume, the brain, heritage studies and new media in the years to come. Please visit the journal, and consider how your research could fit in with its vision.
